Tobacco Road Milk Soap
I'm not sure how many people are fans of the scent of tobacco (cured leaf, not blossoms) but my husband & I are devoted fans of that scent despite being life-long non-smokers. Our high school was across the street from a well-known tobacco warehouse and that industry drove the economy of our city from the 19th century onward. That scent was both tantalizing and exotic. Warm, sweet, slightly smoky, and the patinaed wooden floorboards being trod upon by hundreds of shuffling feet daily added yet another rich layer to that singularly familiar scent we all grew up with in Durham, NC. Hints of sweetness and subtle fruits make it less so much about the tobacco & wood as it does about the multi-faceted scent that reminds us of a moment in time that's long gone but not forgotten.
