What Makes a Tea Bar a Tea Bar?
Our tea bars earn their names from their formulation. We use the oils as usual, but then we give it a little twist and add freshly brewed tea that's been cooled and filtered thoroughly though NOT sweetened. We add the tea after we've blended together everything else completely but before we add the scent. The tea can often colour a bar soap much darker than a batch without tea in it, but that all depends on the type of tea used. White tea discolors the least while black tea discolors the deepest. Green tea lands somewhere in the middle. Why add tea to a soap? The answer lies within the acidity of the tea itself. It can help to reduce the alkalinity of a bar soap, making it far milder than its plainer counterparts.
