I've watched a lot of YouTube videos, hours upon hours, of various soap makers from every region in the US as well as a few from other countries to try to get an idea of their process on how they decide what to create and how they go about it. Some like to fly by the seat of their pants and do it with finesse while others plan well in advance, months in mosts cases, to bring just one design to life. It's always interesting to me to see what they choose to do and what the results is. Some are modern marvels and others give them a run for their money. Those soaping gremlins are alive and well though it's rare the soap is unsalvageable or even less than admirable.
As for me in the type of soaper I am, well, I'm definitely a planner now. Well in advance, in point of fact. Gremlins might still show up to try to spoil the party, but at least I know I've tried to set out a plan, brought together everything I need to bring this vision to life and gone through it with a fine-tooth comb for avoid potential troubles.
This particular planned batch is going to be a boozy bar, which are typically the ones I plan for the furthest in advance. It's just the nature of the beast to find a kernel of an idea ppping into my head first or some beverage catches my attention then I run with it. However, this time, it was an idea that popped into my husband's head and this is one I really like! It sounds like one that should be fun to do and with a kitchy yet trendy appeal that will reach a broad audience with men and women.
His idea has now been researched, distilled down to its most important & unique elements, items ordered and shopping locally will also be done, either today or tomorrow, to finalize prior to the making of it. This is going to be a fun one for sure and the only challenege I see is getting exactly the right shade of amber.
Wihtout going into too much detail and giving it all away, I'll close with that and let you anticipate what comes next. Think barrels.
